Testimonial:

Joy Denise Carrington is a 1997 Honor Graduate of Oscar Frommel Smith High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. She is also a graduate of Virginia Union University and Regent University. Joy holds an Associate Arts degree in Religion and Philosophy, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She received a Master of Arts degree in Human Services Counseling and a Master of Divinity degree in Practical Theology in 2004.

Rev. Carrington is an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church where she answered the call to preach at the age of 16. Rev. Carrington has served as a youth pastor and an assistant to the pastor at Saint Joseph African Methodist Episcopal Zion (AMEZ) Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. She is the former pastor of The Taylor’s Chapel AMEZ Church in Alberta, Virginia. Currently, Pastor Carrington serves as the pastor of the solid White Rock AMEZ Church in Alberta, Virginia.

Joy Carrington is employed by Saint Paul's College in Lawrenceville, Virginia as the College Counselor. She is also an adjunct professor for the James Solomon Russell Scholars Program and the Department of Humanities, teaching courses in Religion.
